Sandboxie is a software sandbox environment which allows you to run untrusted or potentially harmful or unstable software in a protected "sandbox". This isolates the software from the rest of your system, making it impenetrable to malicious code.

Any data "written" by software running in the sandbox will be written into memory and not to disk. When the software sandbox is closed, all data held therein becomes lost.

Launching your web browser in a sandbox will allow totally private browsing, with any traces of your session being wiped as the sandbox is closed. Running software notorious for containing malicious code, such as keygens will keep your system safe from harm.

Sandboxie will add an item to the Window Explorer right click context menu, so .exe software executables can be right-clicked > Open in Sandbox, for ease of use.
