Spotify has become an online sensation very quickly for providing free music streaming from a pretty iPod style interface. With Spotify you can search for your favourite artists, albums or genre and refine your search with similar items found.

Spotify allows you browse by album cover, ratings and even has reviews of albums listed. Items play immediately when clicked with seamingly zero loading time even on a modest broadband connection. While you do have to register to use the software and the service, it remains totally free, Spotify being funded solely by advertisements in a similar way to the advertisements here that fund FileQuake. Audible advertisements interrupt transitions between songs every few songs, but in use, this hasn't become an annoyance. The advertisements are always entertaining, brief and presented professionally.
