WinRAR has long been the standard name in archiving, compressing, uncompressing or extracting many different compression formats. WinRAR will work with archives ending with zip, rar and many other formats can be uncompressed or compressed using WinRAR.

With WinRAR, you're able to add files to archives, remove files from archives, test an archive's integrity, password protect your archive and lock archives. Although WinRAR's own .rar file extention, the propriatary compression/decompression algorithm written by RARLab produces smaller archives, it's worth noting that without WinRAR installed, users will not be able to unpack this archives. WinRAR has the ability to compress using the standard Windows .zip format too. WinRAR supports strong encryption algorithms using passwords and very high compression ratios.
